The unemployment benefit paid by Sotekassa is based on your earnings before you became unemployed. As a member of the Fund, you are likely to receive significantly more money during the period of unemployment or a lay-off than you would if you were on basic unemployment allowance paid by Kela.

The basic unemployment allowance from Kela amounts to a maximum of around €800 per month. The daily allowance you receive from the unemployment fund always totals at least the same amount as you would receive from Kela.
Use the allowance calculator to calculate an estimate of your earnings-related unemployment allowance. Please note that the result given by the calculator is indicative and not binding on the unemployment fund.
